Despite having no passport and no country to return to, Bojerski was taken into custody after attending a routine ICE check-in and transferred to Alligator Alcatraz detention facility. His family reports his health has deteriorated significantly during detention, and he now awaits resolution of his case.

Jackie Merlos, an undocumented immigrant mother from Honduras with a pending U-visa, was detained by CBP agents on June 28, 2025, at Peace Arch Park near the U.S.-Canada border during a family picnic. Merlos, a well-regarded local business owner who had lived in Portland, Oregon for decades, was held in a CBP facility for 12 days. An ICE agent then called Merlos' friend Mimi Lettunich, demanding she immediately pick up Merlos' four U.S. citizen children—9-year-old triplets and a 7-year-old—or they would be placed in foster care. Lettunich, who had not cared for young children in years and had a full-time job, took the children into her home. Federal authorities attempted to deport Merlos without proper documentation or due process, but a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking the children's removal. As of July 2025, Merlos remained in ICE custody at a facility in Tacoma, Washington, separated from her children and facing formal removal proceedings.

Donna Brown-Hughes, an Irish woman who has lived in America for 47 years, was detained by ICE for five months after returning from a trip to Ireland. She was arrested in Chicago due to two dishonored checks from 13 and 10 years prior. She was subsequently released and reunited with her family in Missouri. During detention, she reported conditions including unsanitary facilities, pest infestations, and inadequate food and utilities.

A 15-year-old Mexican national was detained by Florida Highway Patrol in Tampa and transferred to Alligator Alcatraz, a detention facility in the Florida Everglades designed for adult detainees. The teenager initially claimed to be an adult, but was transferred to a shelter for migrant children after his age was confirmed. State and federal officials initially did not acknowledge the minor had been held at the facility before acknowledging it after media confirmation.

Two Los Angeles City Council members introduced motions to require LAPD to verify the identities of individuals claiming to be law enforcement and increase penalties for impersonating public safety personnel. The motions address plainclothes individuals in unmarked vehicles conducting immigration enforcement without proper identification. The motions were introduced following immigration enforcement actions in Huntington Park and other areas across Los Angeles County.

Arpineh Kamal Masihi, an Iranian-born refugee with a prior theft conviction, was detained by ICE for 187 days at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center after her green card was revoked. Her husband Arthu Sahakyan has stated he would continue to support Trump and his immigration enforcement policies.

Thirty young people were arrested after blocking an ICE detention facility near Alligator Alcatraz. A journalist covering the action was also detained by police. The protesters are demanding the shutdown of all ICE facilities and the abolition of ICE.

Immigration judges in New York City ordered record numbers of people deported in absentia during June 2025, with 4,447 removal orders issued for those who missed hearings—more than double May's total. The surge coincided with the Trump administration's "mega master" hearings, which compressed typical hearing schedules from 180 days to 42 days in advance and assigned single judges dockets of over 100 cases daily. Many immigrants reported learning of new hearing dates only through online portals rather than required written mail notice. Nationally, in absentia removal orders reached 53,808 in June, a 55% increase from May and the highest on record since the 1990s.

Seven people were detained during an immigration enforcement operation at a Home Depot in Corona on Monday morning. Federal agents chased individuals in the parking lot and placed them in handcuffs. Activists reported witnessing the operation and said similar enforcement actions occurred in Chino the same morning, resulting in at least three additional detentions. Pascual Miguel Andres, 45, a Guatemalan undocumented immigrant who has lived in the US for 17 years, was detained by ICE on August 15, 2025, after being turned over by Florida Highway Patrol following a minor traffic accident. His two daughters, Yulisa and Yeniffer Andres, are U.S. Marines serving in California, and have applied for "parole in place" to secure his green card and release. Andres has no criminal history and is father to four children, including a son who plans to enlist in the Air Force. He was initially held at Alligator Alcatraz detention facility before being transferred to Krome Detention Center.

Svetlana Romanova, a 59-year-old Russian woman who fled to the U.S. after protesting Russia's war in Ukraine, has spent approximately eight months detained at the CoreCivic Houston Processing Center despite her deteriorating mental and physical health. Islam Musaev, a 28-year-old Kyrgyzstani man who was granted asylum by an immigration judge in March, remains detained after the Department of Homeland Security appealed his case. Data shows detainees at Houston-area facilities are being held significantly longer since the start of Trump's second term, with average stays more than doubling at some facilities.

Svetlana Romanova, a 59-year-old Russian who fled to protest the Ukraine war, has been detained for approximately eight months at CoreCivic Houston Processing Center. She reports inadequate medical care, significant weight loss, and suicidal ideation that was dismissed by staff. An immigration judge ruled against her asylum claim in April; she has appealed, citing risk to her life if returned to Russia.

Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, a long-term Arizona resident who had lived in the United States since age 14, was deported to Mexico by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials following a 2008 conviction for criminal impersonation related to using a false Social Security number to obtain employment. Her deportation occurred shortly after President Trump signed an executive order on January 25, 2017, expanding deportation priorities to include immigrants charged with crimes. Garcia de Rayos was taken to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, where she was reunited with her two teenage children, Jackie (14) and Angel (16), who had been living in Mesa, Arizona.

Luis Hipolito, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested by ICE agents conducting street sweeps in downtown Los Angeles after interfering with their detention of street vendors near Main and 9th streets. Video footage shows agents pepper-spraying Hipolito at close range, then tackling and restraining him for over two minutes as he struggled to breathe. After being restrained, Hipolito convulsed and his legs buckled. He was charged with assault on a federal officer and released on $10,000 bond. Diaz denies claims that he told officers he was a former Border Patrol agent, though police continue investigating whether he was impersonating a federal officer.

Jian Hao Zhang, owner of China Moon restaurant in Camden, was arrested by ICE agents on June 27 and detained at an ICE facility in Batavia for eight months. An immigration court judge had ordered him to leave the country, but he did not comply. Zhang was released in March 2026 after winning an appeal and has returned home to his family.

On June 27, 2025, a Border Patrol agent initiated a vehicle stop on a white Chevy Tahoe near the Rio Grande. The driver failed to yield and drove the vehicle into the Rio Grande River. The driver was observed struggling in the water but subsequently lost sight. A body was recovered from the river approximately seven miles downstream later that morning and identified as the vehicle driver.

ICE agents detained Selena Vanessa Hernández Ramírez, a 25-year-old taco vendor from El Salvador, on June 23 while she was working in front of a Home Depot in Ladera Heights, Los Angeles. According to witnesses and video footage, the agents had covered faces and did not display visible identification or arrest warrants. Hernández Ramírez resisted by holding onto a tree before being forcibly taken to an unmarked vehicle, and agents used tear gas to disperse witnesses who intervened and demanded identification.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell issued a new directive requiring LAPD officers responding to potential ICE immigration enforcement actions to request a supervisor, verify federal agent credentials, and document verification on bodycam footage. The policy was issued in response to ICE operations that were mischaracterized as kidnappings and includes instructions for officers to take enforcement action if they determine individuals are not legitimate federal officers.

Isidro Perez, a 75-year-old Cuban man who arrived in the U.S. in 1966, died on June 26, 2025 after 21 days in ICE custody at Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami-Dade County. He was arrested on June 5 during a law enforcement operation in Key Largo and charged with inadmissibility under the Immigration and Nationality Act, based in part on prior drug convictions from 1981 and 1984. On June 17, he was admitted to Larkin Community Hospital with unstable angina and chest pain with EKG changes; he was discharged on June 25. On June 26 at approximately 7 p.m., he reported chest pains while in the Medical Housing Unit at Krome. Miami Dade Rescue responded with life-sustaining interventions including CPR and defibrillator shock, and he was transported to HCA Kendall Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m. His cause of death is under investigation, with medical reviewers suspecting acute myocardial infarction. He is the fifth person to die in ICE custody in Florida since January 2025.

Vilma Palacios, 22, a recent LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing graduate who had accepted a job at Touro Infirmary, was arrested by ICE agents on June 26, 2025, while attempting to get a vehicle inspection sticker. She has been detained at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile for six months. Palacios had previously been granted a work permit and had applied for asylum as a child, fleeing Honduras at age 6.

Miguel Silvestre, born in Stockton, California, claims he has been deported four times since 1999, despite possessing a valid birth certificate proving his U.S. citizenship. ICE issued an expedited removal order against him in 2025, the same year a prior removal order from 2004 had already confirmed his citizenship status. DHS stated Silvestre has no active immigration case, though the San Francisco Chronicle reported his account of the recent deportation notice and his emotional distress upon learning of it.

Miguel Silvestre, a U.S. citizen born in Stockton, California, claims he has been deported four times since 1999, most recently facing an expedited removal order in 2025 despite a 2004 court order confirming his citizenship. After the San Francisco Chronicle published his account, the Department of Homeland Security stated Silvestre has no active immigration case and is not subject to ICE enforcement action, though the agency maintains that in 1999 he had claimed to be a Mexican citizen with no legal status.

Fernando Eduardo Artese, 63, a dual Italian-Argentinian citizen working as a security camera technician, was stopped during a routine traffic stop on June 25, 2025, while driving with his family in a camper van. Officers discovered an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court for a driving violation. Artese had been living legally in the US since 2018 under the Visa Waiver Program and was planning to self-deport and relocate to Argentina with his family. He was detained and transferred to the ICE facility known as "Alligator Alcatraz" in the Florida Everglades, where his family reports he has been denied information about his case and access to legal representation.

A mother named Marisol and her 11-year-old daughter hid in their Minnesota home for two months to avoid ICE raids, surviving on donated food. When provisions ran out, the mother ventured out to purchase food for her daughter and was detained by ICE agents. The daughter, now being cared for by an activist, has a pending asylum case and is advocating for her mother's release.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested two women outside the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on Tuesday after they appeared for a hearing in a local criminal case involving organized retail theft charges. Jin Hao Zhang, a 56-year-old restaurateur who operated the China Moon restaurant on Main Street in Camden for nearly 20 years, was detained by ICE agents on June 25, 2025. According to reports, Zhang entered the U.S. on a fraudulent visa in 1990 and was ordered to leave by an immigration court judge in 2000 but remained in the country for the past 25 years. The raid closed the restaurant.

The Los Angeles Police Department instructed officers to verify the identities of ICE agents making arrests following reports of "attempted kidnappings" by unidentified individuals claiming to be federal officers. The incident involved Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, who reported being detained by uniformed men in unmarked vehicles and taken directly to the border for self-deportation. DHS denied ICE involvement.

ICE's Fugitive Operations Team arrested 44 people in a five-day operation across central Nebraska — 25 in Lexington, 12 in Grand Island, 2 in Broken Bow, and one each in Cozad, Gibbon, Hastings, Kearney, and North Platte. Colindres arrived in the U.S. from Honduras at age 8 with his family after they fled gang violence and sought asylum. His asylum case and appeal were denied in 2023, with a final removal order issued. Despite having no criminal record and regularly checking in with ICE as required, he was deported to Honduras on June 17. After learning of her son's deportation, his mother Ada Bell Baquedano Amador—who had been ordered to wear an ankle monitor in April 2025—obtained passports and plane tickets. On June 24, Baquedano Amador and Colindres' sister self-deported to Honduras to reunite with him. The detention sparked protests from his soccer teammates and community members.

Kay Southisone was detained by ICE on June 24, 2025, during a routine immigration check-in in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was transferred to a detention center in Baldwin, Michigan, where he remains while ICE pursues his deportation to Laos, a country he has not visited since age 8. His family is seeking funds for legal representation and a stay of removal.

Joselyn Chipantiza-Sisalema, a 20-year-old from Ecuador, was arrested on June 24, 2025, and sent to a Louisiana detention center. She was released three weeks later.

A man was detained by ICE on 10/14/25 in Harbor Gateway (228th & Western) while riding his bike home from the store. He did not have an active deportation order. A family member stated he does not pose a threat to national security. Legal assistance is being sought for his case.

Luis Olvera, a Mexican national who has lived in the U.S. for 38 years since being brought here at age 8, was detained by ICE on June 23, 2025, while walking his family dog outside his apartment building in Burbank. Olvera works in the hospitality industry and lives with his partner and three young children who attend Burbank Unified School District elementary schools. Friends describe him as exceptionally kind and devoted to his family and community, noting that he often gives water and donations to struggling community members and teaches his children to "love thy neighbor." He is currently detained at Adelanto detention facility, which is operated by the for-profit Geo Group.

Johnny Noviello, a 49-year-old Canadian permanent resident and U.S. citizen since 1991, died on June 23, 2025, in ICE custody at Federal Detention Center Miami after being detained for approximately 40 days. He was arrested by ICE on May 15 in Daytona Beach and transferred to the Miami facility on May 19 following a 2023 drug trafficking conviction and faced removal proceedings. An autopsy determined he died from acute kidney failure caused by calcium oxalate crystal deposits. Six kidney specialists concluded the death was preventable, noting symptoms would have been detectable for days and treatable through dialysis. ICE records documented he had health issues including hypertension, convulsions, and abnormal vital signs during detention. A complaint alleges Bureau of Prisons medical staff failed to document an evaluation or create a treatment plan after he appeared dizzy and unstable. The FBI is investigating his death.

Since El Paso joined Texas' Operation Lone Star in late 2022, migrant deaths in the region increased. From January 2023 to August 2024, 299 human remains were reported in the El Paso Border Patrol sector compared to 122 remains found in the prior 20 months, making it the deadliest sector along the U.S.-Mexico border. Volunteer search and rescue groups, including Battalion Search and Rescue, discovered numerous bodies in the New Mexico desert, often locating remains months after initial reports. Families of missing migrants awaited identification, with some waiting months or years for results. Advocates and experts attributed the increase to enforcement policies that redirected migrants toward more dangerous routes.

Johnny Noviello, a 49-year-old Canadian citizen and long-time U.S. green card holder, died in ICE custody at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami on June 23, 2025. He was found unresponsive around 12:54 p.m., and despite CPR and defibrillator use by medical personnel, was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m. Noviello had been detained by ICE following a 2023 drug conviction and was awaiting deportation proceedings. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran spoke out after witnessing video of his father, Narciso Barranco, being beaten by masked Border Patrol officers during an immigration arrest in Santa Ana. Barranco, a landscaper who came from Mexico in the 1990s without legal status, was arrested outside an IHOP restaurant. While DHS claimed Barranco swung his weed trimmer at agents, witnesses posted videos showing officers punching him repeatedly as he lay on the ground.

Adrian Martinez, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen and Walmart employee, was detained by federal agents on June 19, 2025, during an immigration enforcement operation at a Pico Rivera Walmart parking lot. Martinez intervened when he saw agents detaining a maintenance worker, blocking the agents' vehicle with the worker's cart in an attempt to help. He spent three nights in jail following his arrest. Martinez now faces federal charges for conspiracy to impede a federal officer, though initial claims that he punched a Border Patrol agent were not substantiated with assault charges.

A video circulating online allegedly shows ICE agents in Harlingen, Texas following a family in an unmarked vehicle, making contact with their car, pulling the father out, and striking him while his children were present. The incident was posted on Instagram with hashtags related to ICE and immigration enforcement.

ICE agents detained a gardener working in Long Beach's University Park Estates neighborhood who told agents he was a dual citizen and showed identification. A video of the incident shows the man claiming U.S. citizenship and stating he was born at Memorial Hospital in Long Beach. Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson condemned the operation as an "abduction," stating ICE was not given prior notice and criticized the enforcement as rooted in "fear and intimidation."

Broadacres Marketplace, a nearly 50-year-old flea market and cultural hub in North Las Vegas, closed on June 21, 2025, due to fears of ICE raids. The 45-acre marketplace serves thousands of Latino customers weekly and employs hundreds of vendors. Ana Bernal Hernandez, whose family operates two food stalls at Broadacres (Gorditas El Fogón and Chilorio's) plus a standalone restaurant with nine employees, reported decreased foot traffic and a shift to takeout orders as customers fear detention. Peter Guzman, president of Las Vegas's Latin Chamber of Commerce, confirmed other Latino restaurants are experiencing slowdowns. The closure comes amid escalated immigration enforcement under the Trump administration and a partnership between Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and ICE, following an ICE raid at a similar swap meet near Los Angeles. Latinos comprise about one-third of Nevada's population and generated $46 billion in goods and services statewide in 2022.

An Iranian national and his U.S. citizen wife pleaded guilty following a June 21, 2025 confrontation with ICE agents at their Tempe home. Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand pleaded guilty to being an immigrants in possession of firearms and ammunition, while his wife Linet Vartanniavartanians pleaded guilty to threats against federal law enforcement officers. ICE had arrived to administratively arrest Eidivand for failing to comply with a 2013 removal order, but the wife refused to open the door and threatened to shoot the officers. A search warrant executed the following day found two loaded firearms in the home. Both face potential prison sentences at their November sentencing hearing.

Narciso Barranco, an undocumented gardener who has lived in the United States since the 1990s, was detained by ICE and CBP agents on June 21, 2025, during a workplace enforcement action in Orange County, California. Video of the arrest circulated publicly showing a masked federal agent repeatedly punching Barranco in the head and neck while he was pinned to the floor by three agents. Barranco's son Alejandro, a 25-year-old U.S. Marine veteran with two active-duty Marine brothers, stated the agents' actions were "unprofessional and uncalled for." The Department of Homeland Security stated that Barranco swung a weed whacker at an agent and refused to comply with officers' commands.

Federal agents conducted an immigration enforcement action at Xpress Wash in Maywood on the same day as the Bell raid. A minor collision occurred when federal agents opened a vehicle door into a slowly moving BMW; the BMW's driver was detained and later released after onlookers protested. As crowds gathered, federal agents threw flash bang grenades at people standing near Riverfront Park who were recording and asking for badge numbers. No one was ultimately taken from the Maywood business, according to the councilman.
