Federal judge orders ICE release of detainee after bond denial

Armando Garcia Picazo, detained by ICE in August without legal status, was ordered released by federal judge Leonard Strand after being denied bond approved by an immigration judge. Garcia Picazo was held at Woodbury County jail for over two months before filing a habeas corpus lawsuit. He was required to post $6,000 bond and will continue his immigration case on a non-detained docket.

Venezuelan family flees U.S. after ICE detention under Trump

Man arrested after ICE vehicle crash in Oxnard released

Leo Martinez, a volunteer with VC Defensa, was arrested by federal agents after a collision involving an ICE vehicle on October 16, 2025. Video evidence showed an ICE Jeep ramming Martinez's Nissan truck. Martinez was released the same day at a federal facility in Los Angeles, and the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to pursue charges.

Judge blocks federal force against ICE protesters after pastor pepper-balled

84-year-old couple assaulted at ICE protest in Portland

The woman sustained a concussion from the assault. The couple had spontaneously joined the neighborhood protest after seeing the rally from their home.

Border Patrol agent shot woman after saying 'Do something,' attorney claims

Marimar Martinez, a 30-year-old U.S. citizen, was shot five times by a Border Patrol agent in Brighton Park on Saturday morning during an incident where she and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz allegedly followed federal agents in their vehicles. Body camera footage, according to Martinez's attorney, appears to show an agent telling her to "do something" before shooting her. Both Martinez and Ruiz were released pending trial despite being charged with felony assault of a federal officer.

Five Asylum Seekers Detained After Immigration Court Hearings in San Francisco

Five asylum seekers from Colombia, Guatemala, China, and Nicaragua were arrested by DHS agents immediately after exiting immigration court hearings at the San Francisco Immigration Court on October 2, 2025. The federal court granted a temporary restraining order requiring their immediate release and prohibiting re-detention without a hearing.

Spanish-language reporter deported after protest arrest

US-born citizen detained twice by ICE in construction site sweeps
