Man injured scaling jail fence to evade ICE, not returned to custody
A 25-year-old Carpinteria man scaled a fence at Santa Barbara County's Main Jail on March 27 to escape ICE agents attempting to apprehend him. He was injured during the fence jump and found hiding between storage containers in the secured perimeter. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, cited for trespassing, and was not turned over to ICE custody at that time.
