Man deported to Honduras despite fleeing death threats, family remains separated
Oscar was detained during a Green Card interview in February 2025 despite having no criminal record and his lawyer's assurance that detention was unlikely. He was held at Krome in Miami and eventually deported back to Honduras, the country he and his wife, Ana, an environmental activist, had fled after receiving death threats. The family remains separated, though Ana visited Honduras with their four daughters in March 2025. Oscar is now back in Honduras alone, describing himself as fearful and 'at the mercy of God and his will.'
