Latina asylum seeker, 48, detained on way to work in St. Paul, transferred to Wisconsin, denied diabetes medication
Luisa Doe, a 48-year-old Latina woman with a pending asylum application and diabetes, was detained on her way to work in St. Paul. She was transferred to Douglas County Jail in Wisconsin, where ICE agents refused to give her medication she uses to manage her health condition. 'I've told them how horrible I am feeling and the only thing they have done is isolated me in a cold, dark room with hard surfaces,' she declared.
