Operation Tidal Wave arrests 1,120 immigrants in Florida in largest single-state enforcement operation in ICE history
From April 21 to 26, 2025, law enforcement in Florida carried out Operation Tidal Wave, the largest state and federal joint immigration enforcement operation in the state's history. The coordinated effort between ICE, DHS, CBP, and Florida state and local agencies — many operating under 287(g) agreements — arrested 1,120 people across the state, the highest number of immigration-related arrests in a single state in one week in ICE's history. According to officials, 63 percent of those arrested had prior criminal convictions, including those whose only conviction was unauthorized border crossing, or outstanding removal orders. The remaining 37 percent — over 400 people — did not have criminal records.
