Honduran father self-deports from Miami, leaving family behind after ICE raid on his workers
Marvin Suazo, 43, self-deported to Honduras after ICE agents raided his workplace and deported six of his employees earlier in 2026. Suazo, who had lived in the U.S. undocumented since 2014 due to a prior deportation, decided to leave rather than risk arrest, while his wife Maribel and daughter Samantha — who both hold permanent residency — remained in the country. Before his departure, the family took a final trip together along the East Coast, including a stop in Miami, following Samantha's graduation from Yale University.
