Federal agents pepper-spray driver three times in the face at close range after smashing car window in Niles Home Depot parking lot
In a Home Depot parking lot in Niles, Illinois, federal agents used a window-breaking tool to shatter the driver's side window after the driver refused to exit. Agents then directed pepper spray at least three times toward the driver's face, including two bursts from approximately one foot away within about 12 seconds, before pulling him from the vehicle, overpowering him on the ground, and handcuffing him. The incident was documented in a CBP E-STAR Use of Force Incident Report released as part of the Chicago Headline Club v. Noem lawsuit.
