Haitian asylum seeker deported to southern Mexico, fingerprinted and bused south without explanation
Jean, a Haitian man who had recently entered the United States seeking asylum, was deported to Mexico. He described Mexican immigration officers appearing to have a list of the people they were expecting to receive. He was fingerprinted at a migration station near the northern border before being placed on a southbound bus and transported to southern Mexico without explanation of his rights or legal options.
