ICE Arrests Armenian Asylum Seeker at Criminal Hearing in Burbank
Davit Igityan, an Armenian citizen with a pending asylum application, was detained by ICE officers on April 1, 2026, when he appeared at a courthouse in Burbank, California for a criminal hearing. He had been in the U.S. since July 2021 and had complied with all immigration proceedings while operating a lawful business and maintaining community ties. The court granted a temporary restraining order requiring ICE to provide him with an individualized bond hearing within 3 days or release him within 4 days.
