Colombian man arrested by ICE agents waiting outside courthouse after traffic hearing
Julian Isaza, a Colombian national who lived in the U.S. for approximately 14 years, was arrested by ICE agents waiting outside Dudley District Court in Boston after exiting a court appearance for a 2018 driving-without-a-license citation. He was detained for nearly four months before being released in February 2026 with the help of Greater Boston Legal Services; his green card was subsequently approved. Isaza stated the detention severely impacted his household, particularly his young son with special needs, and spoke publicly at a Chelsea listening session to represent thousands facing similar courthouse arrests.
