Mario and more than 40 other workers, many from Zapotec Indigenous communities, were detained during an ICE raid at Ambiance Apparel on June 6, 2025. A year later, some workers have been deported while others remain in immigration proceedings, with families facing ongoing economic hardship and trauma. Mario's daughter Yurien and other family members continue to struggle with the lasting consequences of the enforcement action.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted coordinated raids in Los Angeles's Fashion District on June 6, 2025, detaining more than 40 undocumented immigrants, including over 20 workers at a Korean-owned wholesale clothing business. Following the raids, some Korean American merchants closed their stores and protests occurred throughout the city. Business activity in the area was affected, with some workers departing and customers avoiding the location.

Valentina Galvis, a Colombian asylum seeker, appeared at Chicago Immigration Court on June 5, 2025, hoping for a hearing on her asylum case. Her husband Camilo had been granted asylum in the same court two weeks earlier after they both fled far-right paramilitary violence in Colombia in 2022; Galvis had also survived a brutal assault from the paramilitary group. Instead of a hearing, federal prosecutors asked the judge to dismiss her case. Plainclothes agents detained her immediately upon leaving the courtroom. Galvis and her seven-month-old son Naythan, a U.S. citizen, were taken to the Sonesta Chicago O'Hare Airport Rosemont hotel, where they were confined to a two-room suite for five days with the phone removed, monitored by private guards contracted by ICE, and given no information about their whereabouts or release. Her attorney filed a habeas corpus petition and a judge ordered her not be removed from Illinois, but ICE did not inform her of these legal developments. On the fifth day, she was released to ICE's Intensive Supervision Appearance Program office in Chicago and fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet. The contractor MVM Inc. transported her during her detention. Her original asylum case dismissal is now on appeal and she has a new case pending.

On June 5, 2025, ICE agents conducted a sweep of the Rio Rancho Walmart parking lot, detaining approximately a dozen delivery drivers from Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, and elsewhere. The operation was prompted by calls to ICE hotlines from American-born delivery drivers reporting the locations of immigrant workers. Sandoval County Sheriff's Office provided support to the operation. At least three of those detained remain in custody, though none have been confirmed deported.

ICE arrested a witness at the Minnehaha County Courthouse in Sioux Falls while the person was testifying in a trial. The arrest occurred in front of the witness's wife and baby while jurors were on break. The judge immediately declared a mistrial. The Public Defender's Office noted that the witness had been legally subpoenaed and that the defendant is a U.S. citizen, expressing concern that such arrests could deter witnesses from testifying in future cases, particularly in immigrant communities.

Valentina Galvis and her seven-month-old U.S. citizen son were detained by ICE contractor MVM Inc. at a Sonesta hotel near O'Hare Airport for five days in June after being apprehended at Chicago's immigration court. During their detention, Galvis was denied access to phone calls, her location was falsely listed as Washington, D.C., and she was kept in a hotel suite with guards monitoring her at all times.

A Peruvian woman who crossed the U.S. border illegally was acquitted of unauthorized access to a newly designated militarized zone along the southern border. The trial involved charges related to the new militarized zone at the US-Mexico border.

Yunseo Chung, a 21-year-old permanent resident and Columbia University undergraduate, was pursued by ICE in March 2025 following her arrest for trespassing at a pro-Palestine demonstration on Barnard College campus in early 2025, for which she paid a fine. ICE searched her dorm room and her parents' home but did not locate her. She filed suit against the Trump Administration alleging violation of her First Amendment rights. On June 5, 2025, U.S. District Judge Naomi Buchwald issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting ICE from arresting or detaining Chung and rejected the government's motion to dismiss, noting that ICE failed to issue her a notice to appear in immigration court. Chung subsequently returned to court on May 29, 2025, seeking to consolidate the protective order while her constitutional case proceeds.

Lisandro Pantaleon Pacheco, a 22-year-old University of Utah student, was detained by ICE agents after a traffic stop while driving to work in Park City. He was transported to West Valley City and then to Evanston, Wyoming. According to his attorney, up to 8 additional people were detained by ICE agents in the same operation. Pacheco came to the U.S. as a 1-year-old and was undocumented at the time of detention.

ICE agents arrested multiple immigrants at the San Antonio Immigration Court on May 29, 2025, as they appeared for scheduled court hearings. At least one individual, possibly a minor, was detained using a zip tie. The arrests included a family with four children and were witnessed by staff from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained several migrants outside San Antonio Immigration Court on Thursday, including at least three families with seven people arrested in less than an hour. Activists confirmed that a 3-year-old child was loaded onto a bus with his mother and taken away by ICE. The detentions occurred as families appeared for court hearings.

ICE agents arrested nearly 20 immigrants in Norriton, Montgomery County over two weeks. The arrests targeted homes, businesses, and day laborers, with agents using facial recognition software and entering homes without warrants. Community advocates and local officials commented on the enforcement actions, and immigrant rights groups organized a Saturday rally to support affected families.

Marina Lopez, a woman seeking asylum from Guatemala, was detained by ICE on June 4, 2025, during a routine check-in appointment and spent seven months in a Kentucky detention center. The federal government provided no evidence or explanation for her detention, and she was released on December 23, 2025, after a judge found the government had no record justifying her continued imprisonment. During her detention, her church community provided extensive support to her family, organizing fundraising, childcare, and daily assistance.

ICE agents conducted a raid in Norristown, Pennsylvania, targeting a family who claim to be U.S. citizens. According to the family's statement, agents rammed into a family member's car, threatened them with a loaded gun, and attempted to take someone without a warrant, despite the person living in the residence and no warrant being presented.

Maria Isidro, a 52-year-old Mexican immigrant known as 'Nana Maria' who had lived in the U.S. since 1998 and held an annual stay of deportation, was detained and deported to Mexico after what she believed was a routine immigration check-in in Tallahassee on June 3. She was held for eight days before being transported by van and plane to Matamoros, Mexico on June 11, where she was dropped off at the border with no support. Isidro, who had never missed an immigration check-in and was approved for an I-130 family petition in 2023, described harsh conditions during detention and transport, including shackling, minimal food and water, and bathroom restrictions. She has been married for 31 years and has four children and a husband remaining in Florida.

A 50-year-old El Salvador citizen who has lived in the U.S. for approximately 20 years was detained by ICE agents during a traffic stop in North Hills, California on June 3, 2025. ICE agents pulled over his vehicle, asked for documentation, and took him into custody after he could not establish lawful immigration status. The court granted a temporary restraining order requiring his immediate release from the Adelanto ICE Processing Center where he had been held for over 10 months.

A 24-year-old transgender asylum seeker from Mexico was detained by ICE officers outside a Portland immigration courtroom on June 2, 2025, after appearing for a scheduled court hearing. The woman, who fled Mexico after being raped and threatened by cartel members, had applied for asylum in February 2025 and was arrested in the courtroom lobby without being offered legal counsel or opportunity to be heard before detention.

An 18-year-old Milford High School student, Marcelo Gomes Da Silva, was detained by ICE agents off campus on Saturday while driving his father's vehicle. Da Silva came to the United States on a student visa in 2012 that has since lapsed, and he intends to apply for asylum. A federal judge ordered he not be moved out of state for 72 hours following a habeas corpus petition filed by his attorney.

Two Mexican nationals in their thirties were detained by ICE agents in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood on Monday morning, one at a business and another at their home. Witnesses reported that no warrants were presented during the detentions. Local leaders called for a full investigation. Community organizations are providing legal and emotional support to residents.

In the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, agents returned to the Home Depot where they had detained dozens of day laborers earlier that month. Community observers recorded as agents detained two people; a masked agent aimed a handgun at close range; another sprayed a chemical irritant; and an agent jumped into an unmarked SUV as it began rolling forward after agents apparently had forgotten to put it in park.

In Oceanside, California, the Robles Ortega family was woken up by armed agents breaking their windows, deploying flashbangs, and sending a drone inside. Both parents were detained and the 17-year-old U.S. citizen son and 14-year-old daughter were taken out in handcuffs and only released after neighbors intervened in the driveway to remind agents they were minors and verify their citizenship.
