Five arrested in Phoenix smuggling operation holding migrants in stash houses
Ingrid Bolanos-Gomez, 41, of Guatemala, and four co-conspirators were arrested and indicted for conspiracy to transport and harbor undocumented immigrants in a Phoenix-based smuggling operation. Federal agents discovered approximately 22 migrants held in cramped, unsanitary conditions at three stash houses and another 11 in a minivan near Cordes Lakes on April 28. The five defendants face federal conspiracy charges carrying a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
