The Bay County Sheriff's Office conducted multiple immigration enforcement operations in partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, resulting in 55 arrests for allegedly being in the United States unlawfully. The operations were conducted by deputies assigned to the 287(g) program in partnership with ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations units.

Eight workers were detained during an ICE and Homeland Security Investigations operation at La Fontanella Foods, a food manufacturing warehouse in Kansas City's Historic Northeast, on July 9, 2026. The operation began around 9:45 a.m. and lasted approximately two and a half hours, involving seven to ten federal agents and Jackson County sheriff deputies. A worker reported that agents initially stated no one would be taken into custody and were there only to obtain documents, but later detained the eight people. Agents removed boxes of documents and computers from the facility. Federal officials claimed they were executing a federal criminal search warrant, but no witnesses or employees saw the warrant, and one officer acknowledged not personally carrying a copy. The operation was part of intensified ICE enforcement across the Kansas City metro during June and July 2026.

His 18-year-old daughter drove four hours to the hospital but was unable to visit him or obtain information about his condition due to ICE's policies; hospital staff threatened to involve police if she did not leave. Robinson has U.S.-citizen children and has lived in the United States for many years. He has since been discharged into ICE custody at Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, New York, where his family is concerned he receive prescribed heart medication and appropriate cardiology care while his immigration case proceeds.

A stay-at-home father of four young children, including a 4-year-old, was detained by five ICE agents in tactical gear from his front yard on July 9, 2026, while mowing his lawn. Micaela Mendez Sandiz, a 16-year-old from Chiapas, Mexico, contacted her family on July 8 to report that she and her cousin were traveling through the desert. She was abandoned in serious health condition, reporting lack of water and inability to continue. Her cousin is reportedly detained. The family is seeking information about Micaela's whereabouts.

Alberto Rodriguez Macedo, a 48-year-old citizen of Mexico who has lived in the United States for thirty years, was detained by ICE agents on July 8, 2026 while standing at a bus stop in Brooklyn with other Hispanic men and asked to produce identification. Eliaser is being held at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile, Louisiana and faces deportation. Jaramillo now cares alone for their 5-year-old son, Noah, who is missing his mother. Nando, a Guatemalan man who worked at the Sungrow greenhouse and packing facility near Rochester, New York, was arrested by ICE agents in late June as he left work in his car with his wife and another couple. After being pulled over by unmarked vehicles near the plant's exit, agents arrested him and another man while letting their partners leave. Nando had worked at the plant for 15 months, advancing from packing to operating machinery that unloaded boxes of tomatoes. He was taken to the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility, then transferred to a detention center in Louisiana, before being deported to Guatemala in early July. He is now home with his parents in a rural area without cell service, attempting to stay in touch with his wife and figure out his next steps. His arrest was part of broader ICE and Border Patrol enforcement operations at the Sungrow facility that began in mid-June, during which agents conducted surveillance in unmarked cars before dawn and at worker motels, resulting in at least six arrests near the plant.

Luis U., 51, a Venezuelan immigrant who had become part of the Lake Placid community, was detained by ICE agents at his hotel job on July 8, 2026. His family asked that his full last name be withheld out of fear of further detentions. Family, friends, and advocates are fighting for his release.

Ulises Peña López, a 30-year-old Mexican carpenter living in Sunnyvale, California, with severe pre-existing medical conditions including a mini-stroke, blood clot in his neck, heart condition, spinal disorder, and knee injuries, was arrested by ICE agents on February 21, 2025. According to a federal lawsuit filed by Disability Law United and Pangea Legal Services, ICE agents smashed his car window and physically assaulted him during the arrest, beating him in an alleyway until he lost consciousness and requiring CPR, with his wife Aby and young daughter witnessing the assault. He was hospitalized and allegedly shackled to his bed. His wife told Telemundo: "He can't feel half of his face, it's numb, as well as his right hand and arm, and right now he feels tingling in his right leg and foot." During eight months in ICE detention at facilities operated by GeoGroup and CoreCivic, he allegedly received inadequate medical care, was denied disability accommodations and necessary medication, and was mocked by staff. He was deported to Mexico in October 2025. His wife Aby and daughter, both U.S. citizens, have joined him in filing the lawsuit against DHS, ICE, GEO Group, and CoreCivic, raising claims of civil rights violations, Fifth Amendment due process violations, disability rights violations, and state law accountability claims under California's Accountability in Detention Act. His wife Aby was subsequently diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Leodegario was detained by ICE while traveling to work and is currently in immigration detention facing deportation to Mexico, a country where he has not lived for 30 years. He is a father of five children and husband who has worked to provide for his family and is known in his community for his generosity and willingness to help others. His family is fundraising for legal representation and living expenses as they fight to keep him in the United States and prevent family separation.

Anselmo Esquivel was detained by ICE on a Monday morning and is being held in Tacoma, Washington. His family describes him as a hardworking and generous man. The detention has been devastating for his entire family, who are seeking financial support during this difficult time.

Savannah Eric's father was detained during a routine ICE check-in and subsequently deported after more than 22 years living in the United States. Seven detainees in ICE custody at the Florence Service Processing Center in Arizona have been confirmed with measles. Arizona Democratic representatives Greg Stanton, Yassamin Ansari, and Adelita Grijalva, along with Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly, sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security demanding details about quarantine protocols, medical staffing, and whether detainees had access to legal meetings and court hearings during the lockdown. This is the second measles outbreak reported in Arizona ICE facilities in 2026, with three cases reported in February.

Mario Bojorjes, a North Liberty construction worker and father of three with a pending permanent residency case, was detained by ICE on July 7 after an Iowa State Trooper stopped him on Interstate 80 for a window tint violation. During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted an immigration inquiry that led to Bojorjes' arrest. He has no criminal record and was his family's primary source of income. Bojorjes is currently being held on an ICE hold at the Linn County Jail.

Francisco Olmedo-Silva, a Mexican citizen, was arrested with convictions spanning Oregon, Wyoming, and Pennsylvania for drug trafficking, conspiracy, escaping from custody, and robbery. Pedro Mazorra-Herrera, a Cuban citizen, was arrested in Miami with convictions for aggravated stalking, resisting an officer with violence, burglary with assault or battery, and cocaine possession.

A Venezuelan family of three — father Freddys Padilla Revilla, pregnant mother Edgarianny Gervis, and their 7-year-old daughter — say they have been held at the Dilley Detention Center for over a month after attempting to self-deport to Venezuela. The couple had lived legally in Pecos, Texas for three years, working and maintaining ICE check-ins, and sought to leave voluntarily after discovering Edgarianny was pregnant. They say that at a July 6 ICE check-in appointment, after signing forms waiving their rights and withdrawing their appeal, they were arrested and transferred to Dilley instead of being sent home. The family says Edgarianny has not received proper medical care or an ultrasound, and their daughter has said she 'wants to die' while detained, prompting them to seek help from Sen. Katie Britt.

Manana Razmadze, a Georgian citizen who was paroled into the United States on May 8, 2023 to pursue a pending asylum application, was detained by ICE on July 6, 2026 at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile, Louisiana. She filed a habeas petition challenging her detention and seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent removal, arguing violations of due process rights and procedural requirements under immigration law. The federal court denied her emergency motion for a temporary restraining order and stay of removal, finding it lacked jurisdiction over the removal order and finding insufficient grounds for the extraordinary relief sought.

Mateo Landa Zaragoza and David Hitzil Cruz, who entered the United States without inspection several years prior and were not encountered by immigration officials at the border, were arrested and detained by ICE on July 6, 2026. They were not presented with properly executed warrants at the time of arrest nor informed of the basis for their arrests. A federal court granted their habeas corpus petition, finding the warrantless arrests violated 8 U.S.C. § 1357(a)(2), and ordered their immediate release. The court ruled that if the government seeks to re-detain them, it must provide seven days' notice and hold a bond hearing.
