Alma Guadalupe Nunez-Quijada, a 45-year-old Mexican national who has lived in the U.S. since age 4, was arrested by multiple masked ICE agents on North Stone Avenue around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday as she left a hearing at Pima County Consolidated Justice Court for a noise-ordinance violation. The mother of three U.S. citizens was called by name, surrounded and handcuffed; her eldest daughter said she was calm and compliant. The arrest has raised questions about whether it violated a Pima County Board of Supervisors resolution limiting immigration enforcement on county property, and about how agents knew she would be there. An ICE spokesperson cited a 2006 domestic violence conviction, while Pima County records show only minor traffic charges in 2004 and a 2017 failure-to-pay-fine charge.

A transgender woman detained at Eloy Detention Center in Arizona reported being strapped into a wheelchair, handcuffed, and interrogated for hours by detention officers. The account was shared by U.S. Rep. Yassamin Ansari and represents one of multiple allegations of human rights abuses at the facility, including solitary confinement, inadequate water and food, and extreme temperatures. ICE has disputed many of the allegations, and the incident highlights ongoing concerns about how transgender people are treated in immigration detention.

Vlad, a 23-year-old Russian asylum seeker, was deported to Moscow on July 20, 2026, after missing his May asylum hearing in Tucson. Vlad fled Russia in 2022 and presented himself at the San Ysidro port of entry in December 2022 requesting asylum protection. He had been living in Tucson with his partner Andrea Landavazo. Vlad expressed deep fear of being conscripted into the Russian military or imprisoned upon return due to his political beliefs and opposition to the Russia-Ukraine war. He was detained by ICE in June 2026 and held at ICE's Florence Service Processing Center during a measles lockdown. An order of deportation was issued in absentia, and Vlad did not receive the standard $2,600 in departure funds typically provided for voluntary departure, as ICE stated he did not leave voluntarily.

A Cuban national held at Florence Correctional Center in Arizona staged multiple hunger strikes to protest what he described as inhumane detention conditions and lack of transparency regarding his asylum claims. He alleges that ICE subjected him to solitary confinement and restrictive measures to isolate him from legal counsel and advocacy groups after his protests gained attention. He was subsequently deported to Ecuador, a third country, which terminated his ability to participate in U.S. legal proceedings.

Jonathan Delgado was detained by ICE agents in a Food City parking lot in Mesa, Arizona, while his wife Cindy Mendoza recorded the encounter. Delgado is the primary breadwinner for his family and father of three children, including a 6-year-old son with autism who is nonverbal. According to Mendoza, she had only seconds to process the situation and say goodbye as her husband was taken into custody.

Marcos, an asylum seeker detained at Florence Correctional Center in Arizona, expressed fear for his safety while in custody. He fears becoming the next person to die in detention, referencing Emmanuel Damas. The facility was experiencing a measles outbreak at the time of contact.

Micaela Mendez Sandiz, a 16-year-old from Chiapas, Mexico, contacted her family on July 8 to report that she and her cousin were traveling through the desert. She was abandoned in serious health condition, reporting lack of water and inability to continue. Her cousin is reportedly detained. The family is seeking information about Micaela's whereabouts.

Seven detainees in ICE custody at the Florence Service Processing Center in Arizona have been confirmed with measles. An unspecified number of additional detainees at the Eloy Detention Center and Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex were placed under quarantine for possible measles exposure. Arizona Democratic representatives Greg Stanton, Yassamin Ansari, and Adelita Grijalva, along with Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly, sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security demanding details about quarantine protocols, medical staffing, and whether detainees had access to legal meetings and court hearings during the lockdown. This is the second measles outbreak reported in Arizona ICE facilities in 2026, with three cases reported in February.

Erianny Rodriguez Balza, a Venezuelan woman with active Temporary Protected Status (TPS), was detained by ICE at Eloy Detention Center in Arizona for approximately 9 months. Lesli Vaca Díaz, a 29-year-old Colombian national nearly seven months pregnant, was struck by a Border Patrol agent near Douglas, Arizona on July 2 after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. She was knocked to her knees, pulled up by her jacket, and slammed against a truck while repeatedly stating she was pregnant. She was hospitalized at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson after medical staff determined she was at risk of early labor. Vaca Díaz was held incommunicado and prevented from contacting family or an attorney until July 4, according to her attorney Luis Campos. She is now in ICE custody at Eloy Detention Center.

A driver was pulled over by police on Interstate 10 in Arizona for a suspended license. After being directed to a secluded area off an exit, border patrol agents swarmed the vehicle within minutes with guns drawn. A border patrol agent broke the vehicle's window and removed the passenger, who is dark-skinned. The driver reported that a border patrol agent yelled "GUN" despite no weapon being present. The passenger was taken to a detention center. The incident was documented and reported to stopice.net.

A video posted on Instagram shows an enforcement action in Salome, Arizona involving law enforcement and Border Patrol agents. According to the post, a person was driving with a passenger whom she believed was profiled by police and flagged to federal immigration agents. The couple was pulled over, escorted to an I-10 off-ramp, and then encountered Border Patrol agents. The person who recorded the interaction stated, "They wanted to kill us," according to the source cited as StopIce.Net.

César is a hardworking father who has been detained by ICE for six months. He has no criminal record and no outstanding judicial warrants. He has three young children ages 6, 4, and 2 years old. Since his detention, his wife has struggled to cover legal fees for his attorney, send money for his food and phone calls at the detention facility, and provide for the family's basic needs including food, utilities, and childcare. César's family describes him as a responsible and dedicated man who has worked hard for ten years to support his family.

The Tohono O'odham Nation filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security to block construction of 62 miles of border wall across its tribal lands. Tribal leaders argue the project unlawfully takes tribal land, damages sacred cultural sites, and interferes with religious practices. The federal government planned to award construction contracts in June 2026.

In May 2026, 14-year-old Dilan Maney Paredes and his mother, Margoth Paredes-Ortiz, were detained by ICE in the Tempe area. Paredes-Ortiz was arrested at a Walmart, and her son was taken into custody outside Cecil Shamley School. Both were transferred to Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas, where they were held for approximately 20 days in conditions described as prison-like. They were released in June 2026 pursuant to the Flores Settlement Agreement, which limits child detention to 20 days. Rep. Greg Stanton's office submitted a congressional inquiry to ICE and coordinated with advocates on the case. The family returned to Arizona, where they will remain while their case proceeds before the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Osiel Barrios Parra, a 35-year-old man from Durango, Mexico, went missing after being abandoned in the Arizona desert during a border crossing. His family last communicated with him on June 7, and a third party later informed them that he was left behind near a wash on the route toward 'la aguja,' wearing camouflage clothing. The volunteer search-and-rescue group Armadillos Ni Un Migrante Menos issued an alert seeking any information about his whereabouts.

Diego Armando Gonzalez-Rosales, a former kitchen manager at Zipps Sports Grill, was sentenced to five months in prison after pleading guilty to sharing another person's driver's license and Social Security card to help a friend get hired at the restaurant chain. Gonzalez-Rosales came to the U.S. in 2006 and started as a dishwasher at Zipps before working his way up to kitchen manager, a role in which he vetted and hired new kitchen staff, and he also used fake identification himself to obtain employment. He was arrested during a January raid on Zipps' 15 Valley locations stemming from a Homeland Security Investigations probe into undocumented workers, one of only four employees indicted despite 39 people being arrested that day. His attorney, Debbie Jang, said he was the only person in a management position to face charges and called him a 'pawn' and 'scapegoat' for a company she said systematically engaged in unlawful hiring practices. He faces potential deportation upon release from prison.

A man living with HIV was held for about two weeks at the Florence Staging Facility and went without his HIV medication for the first two days even though ICE knew of his condition. Soon after arrival he developed a high fever and chest pain and was told by guards to submit a written request for care. He says he requested care every day for almost two weeks, reporting chest pain and trouble breathing, and medical was very slow to respond; when he was finally seen he was given only aspirin and water.

A man with Type 1 Diabetes was held for about eight days at the Florence Staging Facility, a unit meant for processing people for no more than 72 hours. He received one medical intake from a nurse and was never given his Metformin. He sent at least four requests for medical care and medication and got no response. When he was examined at another facility, his blood sugar was dangerously high at 499, compared with a normal non-fasting level around 140 mg/dl.
