A long-time employee of Hojas Tea House was detained Tuesday morning while taking out the trash at its Wilmington location, according to a post the concept shared on its Instagram account. According to the post, Eloy was part of Hojas Tea House for 12 years.

Five people were detained during a raid on September 13, 2025 at 9:55 AM in Long Beach at 577 E Wardlow Rd. The detained individuals included migrants, citizens, and legal residents. Carwash owners and construction site operators were advised to install protective fencing around their work sites and properties.

Esteban Rios Sosa, who had lived in the United States for 28 years and was applying for a U visa for crime victims, was detained at the San Diego courthouse after arriving for a routine ICE check-in on October 9, 2025. He was held in the basement for one night in an 8-by-16-foot cell with six other men, where he slept on a thin yoga mat-like mattress and endured inhumane conditions. ICE agents told him he would be expedited removal without opportunity to appeal to a judge, and he was deported to Tijuana the next day. DHS later posted a tweet claiming he had been charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault, but Rios Sosa said those charges belong to his son with a different name, and some of his paperwork had his brother's name on it. On Tuesday she was taken to a detention center in Bakersfield.“It’s just been a total nightmare. I don’t feel like this is real,” Manji Kaur, Harjit Kaur’s daughter-in-law, told Richmondside. Kaur has two -grandsons and three granddaughters.
