ICE said Ramirez struck an agent after his phone was knocked from his hand and he now faces a federal charge of assaulting, resisting or impeding an officer, which he denies. Tribal leaders and members of Minnesota's Native American legislative caucus said the incident reflected racial profiling of Native Americans based on skin color.
