Ukrainian deportee by ICE drafted into military upon return

Undocumented immigrant arrested on DUI charges after found asleep at wheel

Fernando Costilla Espinoza, 38, a Mexican national, was found asleep behind the wheel of a locked pickup truck at a Pensacola intersection just before 3 a.m. on Sunday. An Escambia County Sheriff's sergeant positioned his patrol vehicle in front of the truck to prevent it from rolling into traffic. When Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived and woke Espinoza, they observed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested on DUI charges, and ICE placed a detainer after determining he was not in the United States legally.

Guatemalan mother and daughter detained at San Francisco airport, deported within 36 hours

On March 22, 2026, ICE agents in plainclothes detained Angelina Lopez-Jimenez, 41, a Guatemalan national, and her 9-year-old daughter at San Francisco International Airport after TSA alerted ICE to their presence on a passenger list. Lopez-Jimenez was handcuffed and placed in a wheelchair at Terminal 3 after resisting the agents. She had a final removal order issued by an immigration judge in 2019. Both mother and daughter were transferred to Texas and deported to Guatemala within approximately 36 hours. The detention prompted Democratic lawmakers to condemn the action and community groups to protest, with some alleging San Francisco police illegally assisted ICE in violation of the city's sanctuary policies.

ICE Boston arrests twice-deported Mexican national after jail ignores detainer

Ecuadorian man arrested for kidnapping child from laundromat; ICE initiates removal

Carlos Corte-Corte was arrested on March 28, 2026, after leading a four-year-old child out of a laundromat in Patchogue, New York; the child was found at a nearby library. ICE arrested him on March 31 and initiated removal proceedings. According to DHS, Corte-Corte illegally entered the U.S. at least four times since 2020, with three prior removals. He was charged with second-degree kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.

Dozens of Russian citizens deported on second 2026 charter flight to Moscow

The deportees were gathered from five or six immigration detention centers across the United States. Some deportees faced FSB questioning upon arrival, and human rights organizations noted concerns about potential Kremlin reprisals against returnees, including those who had opposed the invasion of Ukraine.

Cuban Mother of Five Released by ICE After Six-Month Detention

She had been arrested at Miami International Airport in February upon returning from Cuba, where she had traveled with her young daughter to visit her grandmother and honor her deceased father. The case stemmed from a 2013 conviction for theft and conspiracy in Manatee County, Florida, which resurfaced under immigration law treating each reentry as a new admission request. During her detention, her husband cared for their five children, and her defense team argued she was not subject to mandatory detention despite lacking the 15 years of residency needed to seek cancellation of removal.

Cambodian refugee deported to Eswatini, detained five months, repatriated to Cambodia

Pheap Rom, a Cambodian national with permanent resident status in the United States since 1985, was deported to Eswatini in October 2024 under the Trump administration's third-country deportation program. Rom had completed a 15-year prison sentence for attempted murder before deportation proceedings. He was detained at Matsapha Correctional Centre in Eswatini for approximately five months without criminal charges in that country. Rom was released and repatriated to Cambodia in late March 2026, becoming the second person repatriated under the agreement. The U.S. has paid Eswatini $5.1 million to accept up to 160 deportees under this arrangement, with approximately 15-20 men deported there during this period.

73-year-old Cuban man with stroke deported to Mexico, sleeps in parks

Alberto Rodríguez, 73, a Cuban who had lived nearly 50 years in the United States, was deported to Mexico as part of the Trump administration's third-country deportation program. He arrived in Villahermosa at 2 a.m. in prison garb and spent his first nights sleeping in a park. Rodríguez, who uses a cane due to a stroke that leaves him perpetually foggy, now sits outside a Catholic shelter with limited prospects for work or medical care. He has expressed suicidal ideation since his arrival.

Ciocolata Munteanu deported from Los Angeles, arrested in Ireland on outstanding charges.

Ciocolata Munteanu, a 25-26-year-old Irish citizen, was deported by ICE from Los Angeles to Dublin on March 24, 2026, after living in the U.S. for five years. Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, she was arrested on outstanding shoplifting charges from 2018-2019 for stealing two hams and cosmetics when she was a teenager in Cork. Kenyan father detained after attending father's funeral, faces deportation from Washington

Kenyan man arrested by ICE, ordered deported after 22 years in US

Undocumented immigrant sentenced to time served for document fraud in West Virginia

U.S. citizen teen beaten, choked by ICE agents during father's Houston traffic stop

Arnoldo Bazan, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen and student at Alief Hastings High School in Houston, was beaten and choked by masked ICE agents on October 23, 2025, when they stopped his father, Arnulfo Bazan Carrillo, during a drive to school near Gessner Road and Beechnut Street. Bystander video showed agents restraining Arnoldo with an arm around his neck while he told them he was a minor and a citizen; he was also subjected to racial slurs and later treated for bruises and welts consistent with choking. He was held for several hours before ICE confirmed his citizenship and released him. His father, an immigrant from Michoacán with a prior deportation and a misdemeanor DWI conviction, was arrested and, according to immigrant rights group FIEL, intimidated into signing a voluntary departure before being deported to Reynosa, Mexico. ICE disputed the abuse allegations, claiming Arnoldo elbowed an agent and that Arnulfo rammed a federal vehicle and fled. Arnoldo later testified before Congress about the incident.

ICE detains Cuban man in Miami, citing past residence in two states

LA resident of 38 years self-deports to Mexico City amid Trump enforcement

Seven months after his departure, he works as a hair stylist in Mexico City but struggles with displacement, grief over leaving his life and friends behind, and identity questions as he adapts to a country where he spent only nine months of his life and speaks Spanish only haltingly.

Moorpark family deported after ICE revokes asylum during check-in

Alicia Luna Flores, Juan Alberto Baquera Santoyo, and their seventh-grade daughter Melanie were deported to Tijuana within 24 hours after visiting an ICE field office in Camarillo on March 23, where they had expected their ankle monitors to be removed following eight years in the U.S. under asylum proceedings. ICE instead told them their asylum case had been terminated due to a missed court date they said they were unaware of. Their 3-year-old son, born in the U.S., was not taken into custody and is being cared for by relatives, while the family is now staying with a relative in Michoacan, Mexico. In Moorpark, Luna had cleaned houses and Baquera worked in construction and painting, while Melanie attended Mesa Verde Middle School and hoped to become a professional soccer player.

U.S. citizen child with brain cancer deported to Mexico with parents

A 10-year-old U.S. citizen girl recovering from brain cancer was deported to Mexico along with her undocumented parents and four American-born siblings in February 2025. The family was detained at an immigration checkpoint while traveling from Rio Grande City to Houston for the child's emergency medical checkup. The girl, who had undergone surgery to remove a brain tumor, has been unable to continue her specialized medical treatment and rehabilitation in Mexico. An 11-year-old U.S. citizen recovering from brain cancer was deported to Mexico with her family by Border Patrol agents despite her documented citizenship and need for ongoing medical treatment. The family was traveling to Houston for emergency care when agents ignored a hospital letter the family had used previously at checkpoints and detained the family, deporting them the next day. The citizen child's 18-year-old brother, Fernando Hernández García, was not detained and remained in the U.S. to earn money and send medicine to his sister. The family's lawyers report they have been unable to access proper medical care in Mexico and have applied for humanitarian parole.

Mother and daughter detained by plainclothes ICE agents at SFO

Angelina Lopez-Jimenez and her daughter Wendy Godinez-Jimenez were detained by plainclothes ICE officers at San Francisco International Airport on the night of March 22, 2026, as the mother was being escorted to an outbound flight. Video shows the girl crying as officers detained her mother, who was later taken through the airport in a wheelchair; a bystander who filmed the scene said officers would not identify themselves when asked. DHS said Lopez-Jimenez had an outstanding 2019 removal order, resisted officers during the arrest, and that the family was being repatriated to Guatemala. SFO said it was not notified in advance, called the incident isolated, and said airport operations were not disrupted, while local officials have voiced criticism of the detention.
