Despite receiving a new court date scheduled for October, he was detained by ICE immediately following his hearing. Volunteers from NorCal Resist assisted his family member in locating legal resources and using the federal detainee locator system.

ICE agents arrested Deivi Jose Molina-Pena, a 33-year-old Venezuelan on Temporary Protected Status, at a Walmart on July 7, 2025. The arrest was captured on video. The arrest occurred following tensions between American-born and immigrant delivery drivers working for Walmart's Spark service, with American drivers reportedly calling ICE hotlines to report the immigrants' locations. Molina-Pena suffered a head injury during the arrest and remains in ICE custody in El Paso.

Hamza Mohamed Al-Kashif, a stateless Palestinian born in Kuwait, was re-detained by ICE on July 7, 2025 during a routine check-in after being on supervised release since 2008. Al-Kashif had a final removal order from 2007 but ICE had not secured travel documents for his removal to Kuwait or Egypt. The court ordered his immediate release, finding his continued detention unlawful due to no significant likelihood of removal in the foreseeable future.

The Trump administration deported over 260 migrants to El Salvador's CECOT prison in March 2024, a facility known for human rights abuses. Salvadoran officials acknowledged to UN investigators that the US maintains control of the Venezuelan men held there, contradicting public statements from both governments. Lawyers for the migrants argue the US government has misled courts about its ability to ensure their due process rights.

Anastasio Sanchez, a 51-year-old man who had operated a taco truck in East L.A. for five years, was detained by federal agents on July 6, 2025, near Whittier and Atlantic boulevards. Sanchez had paused his business due to ICE raids in the area but reopened out of financial necessity. Chih-Ming "Petey" Feng, a Taiwanese national and cook at high-profile Dallas restaurants, was detained during an immigration check-in on November 6, 2025, for overstaying his visa since 2010 and a 2023 DWI misdemeanor. He spent 133 days in ICE detention facilities in southwest Texas before returning home to Taiwan. During his detention, friends in the Dallas restaurant community provided support by securing legal representation, accessing funds, and coordinating his release.

Milagro Solis Portillo was detained by ICE agents on July 3 outside her home in Sherman Oaks and hospitalized at Glendale Memorial Hospital. Detention officers have maintained a presence at the hospital. Community leaders and elected officials have stated concerns about this presence at the hospital. Her family alleged she was left handcuffed and covered in vomit for over eight hours without proper medical care.

The Los Angeles Police Department instructed all LAPD officers to verify the identity and credentials of ICE agents when they arrive on scene.

Ward Sakeik, a 22-year-old stateless Palestinian woman married to a U.S. citizen, was released from ICE detention on July 2, 2025, after being detained for nearly five months starting in February when she returned from her honeymoon. Sakeik, who has lived in the U.S. since age 8, was arrested at St. Thomas Airport in the U.S. Virgin Islands while under an order of supervision and with a green card application pending. The government attempted to deport her twice, including once while a federal court order was in place, before releasing her.

Edilberto Suarez Vergara, a Cuban citizen who had been under ICE supervision since 2006, was detained by ICE in July 2025. He was held at Camp 57 in Angola, Louisiana, then transferred to Arizona where he was scheduled for deportation to Mexico. The court granted a temporary restraining order blocking his removal, finding he was denied proper notice and hearing before being deported to a third-party country where he has no connections.

Despite having no passport and no country to return to, Bojerski was taken into custody after attending a routine ICE check-in and transferred to Alligator Alcatraz detention facility. His family reports his health has deteriorated significantly during detention, and he now awaits resolution of his case.

Donna Brown-Hughes, an Irish woman who has lived in America for 47 years, was detained by ICE for five months after returning from a trip to Ireland. She was arrested in Chicago due to two dishonored checks from 13 and 10 years prior. She was subsequently released and reunited with her family in Missouri. During detention, she reported conditions including unsanitary facilities, pest infestations, and inadequate food and utilities.

A 15-year-old Mexican national was detained by Florida Highway Patrol in Tampa and transferred to Alligator Alcatraz, a detention facility in the Florida Everglades designed for adult detainees. The teenager initially claimed to be an adult, but was transferred to a shelter for migrant children after his age was confirmed. State and federal officials initially did not acknowledge the minor had been held at the facility before acknowledging it after media confirmation.

ICE agents surveilled a Tampa home and confronted a man they suspected of being Marvin Isaac Caceres Maradiaga, a Honduran citizen with a 2023 removal order. When relatives emerged and an altercation began, agents entered the home without a judicial warrant, obtaining verbal "consent" after threatening to break down the door. The relatives were arrested for allegedly assaulting federal officers.

Arpineh Kamal Masihi, an Iranian-born refugee with a prior theft conviction, was detained by ICE for 187 days at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center after her green card was revoked. Her husband Arthu Sahakyan has stated he would continue to support Trump and his immigration enforcement policies.

Seven people were detained during an immigration enforcement operation at a Home Depot in Corona on Monday morning. Federal agents chased individuals in the parking lot and placed them in handcuffs. Activists reported witnessing the operation and said similar enforcement actions occurred in Chino the same morning, resulting in at least three additional detentions. CBP agents arrested 37 people outside three Home Depot stores in LA County on June 30, 2025. The arrests occurred at locations on Figueroa Street, in North Hollywood, and on Sunset Boulevard. According to DHS, those detained had criminal histories including drug trafficking, firearm offenses, theft, forgery, DUIs, and battery. An earlier raid on June 19 at the Sunset Boulevard location also resulted in detentions, including at least one U.S. citizen, prompting local officials and community members to protest the operations.

Data shows that migrants at some Houston-area detention centers are being held more than twice as long since the start of Trump's second term. Svetlana Romanova, a Russian asylum seeker who fled to protest the Ukraine war, has spent eight months in detention. Islam Musaev, a Kyrgyzstani man whose asylum case was granted but is being appealed by the government, has been detained nearly a year. Conditions and detention practices were examined during this period while asylum cases move through the court system.

Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, a long-term Arizona resident who had lived in the United States since age 14, was deported to Mexico by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials following a 2008 conviction for criminal impersonation related to using a false Social Security number to obtain employment. Her deportation occurred shortly after President Trump signed an executive order on January 25, 2017, expanding deportation priorities to include immigrants charged with crimes. Garcia de Rayos was taken to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, where she was reunited with her two teenage children, Jackie (14) and Angel (16), who had been living in Mesa, Arizona.

Jackie Merlos, an undocumented immigrant mother with a pending U-visa and four U.S. citizen children, was detained by CBP agents on June 28, 2025, at Peace Arch Park near the U.S.-Canada border during a family picnic. The family was held in a CBP facility for 12 days. Federal authorities attempted to deport them without proper documentation or due process. The children were released after a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking their removal. Jackie Merlos remains in ICE custody facing formal removal proceedings.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted enforcement operations at the Chesterfield County courthouse, resulting in the arrest of undocumented immigrants. Activists and community members gathered to protest the arrests at the courthouse.

Fernando Diaz, 23, was arrested in Huntington Park after police found a loaded firearm, official-looking Homeland Security and CBP documents, and other law enforcement paraphernalia in his vehicle. Diaz denies claims that he told officers he was a former Border Patrol agent, though police continue investigating whether he was impersonating a federal officer.

Jian Hao Zhang, owner of China Moon restaurant in Camden, was arrested by ICE agents on June 27 and detained at an ICE facility in Batavia for eight months. An immigration court judge had ordered him to leave the country, but he did not comply. Zhang was released in March 2026 after winning an appeal and has returned home to his family.

On June 27, 2025, a Border Patrol agent initiated a vehicle stop on a white Chevy Tahoe near the Rio Grande. The driver failed to yield and drove the vehicle into the Rio Grande River. The driver was observed struggling in the water but subsequently lost sight. A body was recovered from the river approximately seven miles downstream later that morning and identified as the vehicle driver.

ICE agents conducting street sweeps in downtown Los Angeles arrested Luis Hipolito, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen, after he interfered with their detention of street vendors. Video footage shows agents pepper-spraying Hipolito, then tackling and restraining him for over two minutes as he struggled to breathe. After being restrained, Hipolito convulsed and his legs buckled. He was charged with assault on a federal officer and released on $10,000 bond. A second U.S. citizen, Andrea Guadalupe Velez, was also arrested during the same operation.

ICE agents detained Selena Vanessa Hernández Ramírez, a 25-year-old taco vendor from El Salvador, while she was working in front of a Home Depot in Ladera Heights, Los Angeles. According to witnesses, the agents had covered faces and did not display visible identification or arrest warrants. The woman attempted to resist by holding onto a tree before being forcibly taken to an unmarked van, and agents used tear gas to disperse witnesses who intervened.

Hayam El Gamal and her five children, Egyptian citizens who lawfully entered the U.S. with B-1 visitor visas in 2022, have been detained at Dilley Immigration Processing Center since June 4, 2025. An immigration judge granted them bond on September 19, 2025, but DHS filed a notice of intent to appeal, which automatically stayed their release. They filed a habeas corpus petition challenging their continued confinement as a violation of due process rights.

Silvestre was previously deported in 1999 by INS agents despite clear evidence of his birth in the United States, and now faces the risk of immediate removal to Mexico without a hearing if encountered by any law enforcement.

Vilma Palacios, a 22-year-old LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing graduate, was detained by ICE agents on June 26, 2025, while attempting to get a vehicle inspection sticker. Despite having a previously granted work permit and no criminal convictions, she was arrested and sent to the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center where she remained detained for six months. Palacios, who fled Honduras as a child and had applied for asylum, is facing deportation and may self-deport before January 14, 2026.

A mother named Marisol and her 11-year-old daughter hid in their Minnesota home for two months to avoid ICE raids, surviving on donated food. When provisions ran out, the mother ventured out to purchase food for her daughter and was detained by ICE agents. The daughter, now being cared for by an activist, has a pending asylum case and is advocating for her mother's release.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested two women outside the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on Tuesday after they appeared for a hearing in a local criminal case involving organized retail theft charges. The agents waited in the courtroom and detained the defendants without advance notice to the court, defense attorneys, or prosecutors.

Jin Hao Zhang, a 56-year-old restaurateur who operated the China Moon restaurant on Main Street in Camden for nearly 20 years, was detained by ICE agents on June 25, 2025. According to reports, Zhang entered the U.S. on a fraudulent visa in 1990 and was ordered to leave by an immigration court judge in 2000 but remained in the country for the past 25 years. The raid closed the restaurant.

Emerson Colindres, a 19-year-old high school graduate and soccer player, was detained by ICE on June 4, 2025, during a routine check-in at an Intensive Supervision Appearance Program facility in Blue Ash, Ohio. Colindres had arrived in the U.S. from Honduras at age 8 with his family seeking asylum from violence. His asylum case and subsequent appeal were denied, with a final removal order issued in 2023. He was deported to Honduras approximately two weeks after detention. His detention sparked community protests and support from his soccer coach, teammates, and teachers. His mother, Ada Bell Baquedano Amador, who had been ordered to wear an ankle monitor since April and given 30 days to leave, subsequently obtained passports and plane tickets. By June 24, she and Colindres' sister self-deported to Honduras to reunite with him.

Andrea Velez, a U.S. citizen and production coordinator, was detained by ICE agents in downtown Los Angeles on June 24 while being dropped off at work. She was charged with assaulting a federal officer after agents claimed she interfered with an arrest by stepping into an officer's path. The Justice Department later dismissed her case without prejudice. Velez reported being denied water for 24 hours while held at a detention center and said she has been traumatized by the incident.

A man was detained by ICE on 10/14/25 in Harbor Gateway (228th & Western) while riding his bike home from the store. He did not have an active deportation order. A family member stated he does not pose a threat to national security. Legal assistance is being sought for his case.

Johnny Noviello, a 49-year-old Canadian citizen and long-time U.S. green card holder, died in ICE custody at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami on June 23, 2025. He was found unresponsive around 12:54 p.m., and despite CPR and defibrillator use by medical personnel, was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m. Noviello had been detained by ICE following a 2023 drug conviction and was awaiting deportation proceedings. The cause of death remains under investigation.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran spoke out after witnessing video of his father, Narciso Barranco, being beaten by masked Border Patrol officers during an immigration arrest in Santa Ana. Barranco, a landscaper who came from Mexico in the 1990s without legal status, was arrested outside an IHOP restaurant. While DHS claimed Barranco swung his weed trimmer at agents, witnesses posted videos showing officers punching him repeatedly as he lay on the ground.

Adrian Martinez, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen and Walmart employee, was detained by federal agents on June 19, 2025, during an immigration enforcement operation at a Pico Rivera Walmart parking lot. Martinez intervened when he saw agents detaining a maintenance worker, blocking the agents' vehicle with the worker's cart in an attempt to help. He spent three nights in jail following his arrest. Martinez now faces federal charges for conspiracy to impede a federal officer, though initial claims that he punched a Border Patrol agent were not substantiated with assault charges.

ICE agents detained a gardener working outside Polly's Pies restaurant on Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach. According to a local official's account, the agents chased the worker inside the restaurant and tackled him before removing him. The incident occurred in front of restaurant patrons and employees.

An Iranian national and his U.S. citizen wife pleaded guilty following a June 21, 2025 confrontation with ICE agents at their Tempe home. Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand pleaded guilty to being an immigrants in possession of firearms and ammunition, while his wife Linet Vartanniavartanians pleaded guilty to threats against federal law enforcement officers. ICE had arrived to administratively arrest Eidivand for failing to comply with a 2013 removal order, but the wife refused to open the door and threatened to shoot the officers. A search warrant executed the following day found two loaded firearms in the home. Both face potential prison sentences at their November sentencing hearing.

A federal immigration judge terminated Barranco's deportation case in February 2026, citing his eligibility for the Parole in Place program and allowing him to pursue permanent residency without deportation threat. Barranco's son Alejandro, a Marine veteran, spoke publicly about the arrest. DHS claimed Barranco swung a weed whacker at agents and refused to comply during the incident.

Pedro Vasquez Perdomo, Isaac Villegas Molina, and Osorto Carlos filed a federal habeas corpus petition against Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, and ICE officials challenging their detention.
