Mark Louis Santiago Mabasa, son of slain Filipino radio broadcaster Percy Lapid, was detained by US immigration authorities in Los Angeles, California. He is currently being held at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center, according to the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. His uncle, Roy Mabasa, confirmed the arrest but said the family has not yet received details about the reason for it. The family had been in the process of seeking political asylum in the United States after Lapid was ambushed and killed in the Philippines in October 2022.
