A man was detained by ICE agents at 5:45 a.m. outside an Albertsons grocery store in Carpinteria, California, according to video filmed by volunteers with Carpinteria Sin Fronteras, a group that documents ICE activity in the area. Employees at a nearby Mexican bakery, Case Don Roge, said they recognized the man as a past customer. The incident frightened nearby residents, with some customers hiding inside local businesses and many regulars staying home from the bakery in the days that followed.
