Erick Reyes, who has lived in the United States since age 10, was pulled over and detained by immigration agents in Tijeras, New Mexico, according to his wife, Alaina Rodriguez. The couple had been married for three months and were gathering final documents, including a police clearance letter and a sponsor, to submit their marriage-based immigration application. Rodriguez said it took nearly two days for the family to locate Reyes, who is being held at the Torrance County Detention Facility, while they also searched for legal assistance. Rodriguez said Reyes does not have a criminal record and described fear about the family's ability to move freely and feel safe in their community.
