A man who entered the U.S. without inspection in December 2022 was formally paroled by DHS and complied with all of his parole conditions for three and a half years. He was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Oklahoma, taken into immigration custody and transferred between detention facilities before arriving at the Golden State Annex in California. A federal court granted his habeas corpus petition and ordered his immediate release, finding that detaining him without any process beforehand violated his due process rights.
