ACLU Challenges Widespread Denial of Due Process in Immigration Courts
Sep 23, 2025 · Boston, Massachusetts
The ACLU of Massachusetts and partner organizations filed a class-action lawsuit challenging the widespread denial of bond hearings to people detained by ICE. The complaint alleges that the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice have systematically reclassified arrested individuals from statutory authority that allows bond requests to provisions that deny bond, violating constitutional and statutory rights and affecting thousands of people.
