An undocumented father was arrested by ICE agents while driving his 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter, both U.S. citizens, to school in Franklin Township. Witnesses and the family say agents asked the boy to call a relative but drove away before anyone arrived, leaving the two children unattended on the roadside. The boy recorded the arrest on his cellphone. According to DHS policy, ICE agents should remain on scene until a designated third party or child welfare authority assumes custody of minor children. The mother stated, "I think [the ICE agents] have no feelings because of how they left the car and the children there alone." The son said, "I still don't think it's right to leave unattended minors." The family plans to self-deport to Mexico with both children, who are U.S. citizens.
