Trafficking survivors and vulnerable children face accelerated deportations under Trump administration
Aug 5, 2026 · Pittsburgh, PA, Guatemala
Jewish Family and Community Services of Pittsburgh filed a federal lawsuit alleging the Trump administration is deliberately targeting unaccompanied immigrant children for rapid deportation despite many qualifying for legal protections. The complaint claims immigration judges have received instructions to deny children adequate time to pursue Special Immigrant Juvenile status and T nonimmigrant protections for trafficking survivors. Immigration court hearings for children have been accelerated, with juvenile dockets compressed and judges allegedly penalized for granting continuances.
