ICE agent arrested and charged for shooting Venezuelan man in Minneapolis raid
ICE agent Christian Castro was arrested in Texas on May 29 and charged with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime for shooting Venezuelan national Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in the leg on January 14 during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. Castro fired through a front door, with the bullet striking Sosa-Celis and traveling into a child's room. Federal assault charges against Sosa-Celis and another man were previously dropped after prosecutors determined the initial accusations against them were false.
