New York Times photographer shoved to ground, struck with baton at Newark detention center protests
Photographer Madison Swart, a frequent contributor to The New York Times, was deliberately pushed to the ground and struck with a baton by an ICE agent while documenting anti-ICE protests outside Delaney Hall detention center in Newark. Swart was moving back as instructed when an agent shoved her forcefully with a baton, causing her to fall. She reported being in shock over the incident.
