While fleeing from agents near Las Palmas restaurant, Guevara-Martinez was pursued and pinned against a plate glass window at a dress shop, crashing through it and severely lacerating his lower right leg to the bone. He was treated at the University of Kansas Hospital and released into ICE custody pending removal proceedings. Friends reported he required a skin graft for the injury and that he had no criminal record and was working on a construction project.

Adrian Mendoza, an Ecuadoran man who fled persecution in 2023, was detained during an ICE raid at a food manufacturing plant in the Kansas City area. His wife, Aylin Castro, was not notified by ICE and learned of his detention through social media when agents detained eight people at the facility. Castro told KCUR 893 that the last message she received from Mendoza came as he said goodbye, telling her he loved her and thanking her for breakfast she had packed in his lunchbox.

A 20-year-old lawful permanent resident was detained for hours on July 11 during an ICE operation at an apartment complex in Olathe. He was arrested alongside his cousin, Alan Marquez, after ICE agents claimed both men rammed or attempted to ram into federal agents—a claim the men deny. Police transported both men to county jail and held them for several hours before they were released without criminal charges. The legal permanent resident fears that pursuing legal action could jeopardize his immigration status and has decided not to pursue the matter.

Alan Marquez, a 19-year-old U.S. citizen, was detained for hours on July 11 after an encounter with ICE agents at an apartment complex in Olathe. Marquez stopped to watch an immigration enforcement operation when ICE agent Jack Ravencamp approached his red truck and pepper-sprayed his vehicle before reversing into it, causing damage to the door and side mirror. Video evidence reviewed by the Post shows the agent reversing into Marquez's truck. Marquez was handcuffed and transported to county jail by Olathe police and held for several hours before being released without criminal charges. Marquez, a U.S. citizen, says he intends to challenge what happened and pursue a damages claim for the vehicle.

Eight workers were detained during an ICE and Homeland Security Investigations operation at La Fontanella Foods, a food manufacturing warehouse in Kansas City's Historic Northeast, on July 9, 2026. The operation began around 9:45 a.m. and lasted approximately two and a half hours, involving seven to ten federal agents and Jackson County sheriff deputies. A worker reported that agents initially stated no one would be taken into custody and were there only to obtain documents, but later detained the eight people. Agents removed boxes of documents and computers from the facility. Federal officials claimed they were executing a federal criminal search warrant, but no witnesses or employees saw the warrant, and one officer acknowledged not personally carrying a copy. The operation was part of intensified ICE enforcement across the Kansas City metro during June and July 2026.

A stay-at-home father of four young children, including a 4-year-old, was detained by five ICE agents in tactical gear from his front yard on July 9, 2026, while mowing his lawn. On June 28, ICE agents chased a man through a Home Depot parking lot in Olathe, then detained two people from an agua fresca stand at Santa Fe and Ridgeview. Neighbors described the detained individuals as kind and friendly community members.

On June 27, multiple ICE vehicles blocked traffic at 6th and Central in Kansas City, Kansas and conducted a roundup that detained at least four people. Agents then detained another person outside a restaurant at 7th and Northrup. A blue work truck was left abandoned at the curb with its owner gone.

On June 27, 2026, at the intersection of 6th Street and Central Avenue in Strawberry Hill, ICE agents used four vehicles to block a Chevrolet Silverado and detain a man with ten officers involved in the operation. Witness Alison Hawkins reported seeing five agents in full military tactical gear and five others dressed as regular workers with a lawn trailer. After the arrest, one of the officers drove away in the detained man's truck. The incident was documented and posted on social media by witnesses.

On June 21, ICE agents boxed in a vehicle at a QuikTrip gas station at 555 North 78th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, and detained two people who had stopped for fuel. The two were transported to the Leavenworth detention center, a CoreCivic facility reopened in March 2026 as the first ICE detention center in Kansas. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reportedly detained two people in Lawrence on February 27, including near the University of Kansas campus. Approximately 80 protesters gathered outside Strong Hall. The university stated it was still gathering information about whether any KU students or employees were involved.

Juan, a 21-year-old from Guatemala seeking asylum, was pulled over by Olathe Police Officer Todd Boyer on February 16, 2026 for speeding and driving without a license. Boyer violated department policy by calling an ICE hotline and providing the exact stop location, leading to Juan's detention and subsequent deportation to Guatemala. Police Chief Mike Butaud confirmed the policy violation. As of June 2026, Boyer remained employed at the Olathe Police Department.

A grand jury indicted Braulio Jara-Alvarez on federal gun and drug charges after his arrest by Topeka police on an ICE detainer in February 2026. A Northwest Arkansas man was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement following a traffic stop. According to his attorney, the man is a U.S. citizen. He has since been released and returned home.

Rosmery Alvarado, 42, a Kansas resident born in Guatemala, was arrested by ICE agents immediately after completing a spousal green card interview at the USCIS office in Kansas City on April 23, 2025. She is now facing deportation to Guatemala and is being held in detention, despite her family believing her petition had been approved. The arrest occurred after ICE agents waited for her husband to step out of the interview room before detaining and handcuffing her.
