Selvin Alfredo Ramos Perez, a kitchen worker at a Roanoke restaurant, was arrested by Roanoke County Police on August 4, 2026, for public intoxication. ICE lodged a detainer with the county jail the same day, and Ramos Perez was transferred into ICE custody pending removal proceedings. According to DHS, Ramos Perez entered the United States illegally on multiple occasions beginning in 2011, was removed and deported in 2017, and unlawfully re-entered the country multiple times after his removal. DHS also reported he has a prior criminal record including traffic offenses, public order crimes, fraud charges, and a DUI.
