Surge in ICE operations across Loudoun County; agencies report multiple arrests
Aug 15, 2026 · Loudoun, VA

ICE agents have conducted a large number of arrests across Loudoun County over the past several weeks, believed to be the first major operations in the county since the surge in federal immigration enforcement began under President Donald Trump. Video evidence shows ICE agents stopping delivery trucks, landscaping crews, and private vehicles in Sterling and Leesburg, particularly along East Market Street, Plaza Street, Sterling Boulevard, and Old Ox Road, with occupants taken into custody. County and local officials report uncertainty about the charges against those arrested and lack of clarity from ICE about the operations. A White House map indicated approximately 460 arrests had been made in Loudoun since January 2025, though updated figures are unavailable.
