ICE operations intensify in Springfield, dozens of Haitians detained this month
Aug 20, 2026 · Springfield, OH, Haiti

ICE agents conducted multiple operations across Springfield, Ohio on Aug. 20, including a suspected arrest at a Sunoco gas station and an attempt to remove occupants from a unit at the Stone Crossing Apartments believed to house a Haitian couple and their infant. A resident separately shared video of an ICE arrest outside her Sherman Avenue home the day before. Jail booking records show 26 people of Haitian origin were booked into the Butler County Jail on ICE holds between Aug. 1 and Aug. 20, an increase that followed a federal judge's Aug. 5 order lifting a stay on the revocation of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians.
