New York AG subpoenas counties refusing to end ICE cooperation deals

Location: New York, NY

New York Attorney General Letitia James subpoenaed several counties, including Nassau under GOP candidate Bruce Blakeman, for not complying with a new state law limiting cooperation with ICE. The law requires local jails to end 287(g) agreements and bars detaining immigrants for ICE. Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin says he will not comply and plans to join a lawsuit against the law.
