TSA-ICE data sharing fuels hundreds of airport arrests nationwide, advocates say
Sep 28, 2026

Kica Matos, president of the National Immigration Law Center, said recent ICE arrests at Connecticut airports are part of a broader pattern of information sharing between the Transportation Security Administration and ICE, describing agents wearing Tweed access badges and parking in private airport lots to conduct arrests. She said roughly 800 people have been arrested at airports nationwide because of this practice, including some with pending asylum cases, green card applications, or work permits. Matos called for ending the TSA-ICE data pipeline and for Tweed's operator to stop cooperating with ICE.
