Sep 29, 2026·Location: Hudson, CO
Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser filed a federal lawsuit seeking to block the opening of a 1,200-bed ICE detention facility in Hudson, Colorado, operated by GEO Group under a $528.7 million contract. The suit alleges the federal government failed to conduct a required environmental impact review under the National Environmental Policy Act before reopening the former private prison. It is the third lawsuit filed against the facility, following separate suits from environmental and immigrant rights groups.
