Man dies after ICE grants temporary medical release following seizure at Delaney Hall
Oct 13, 2026·Location: Newark, NJ

Jose Chajon-Raxon, a man detained at Delaney Hall, experienced a seizure and was transported to the hospital around the time of a July congressional hearing on conditions at the facility. ICE granted him a temporary medical release before he died, and because he was technically no longer in detention, his death was not counted as a death in ICE custody.
