Oct 6, 2026·Location: Davie, FL
Country of origin: Venezuela

Rodolfo Hurtado, a 20-year-old Venezuelan man, was detained by ICE on October 6, 2026 during an operation in Davie, Florida, and later transferred to the Krome North Service Processing Center. Hurtado's family says he came to the U.S. with his parents from Maracaibo, Venezuela in January 2023 under humanitarian parole and that he remains covered by the family's pending 2023 asylum application, though DHS claims his asylum status lapsed when he turned 18. His parents, Riover Hurtado and Karina Aguilar, describe him as a student, worker and soccer player with no criminal record, a fact CNN independently verified. His father said the family speaks with him daily by phone and that a judge has scheduled a hearing in his case for October 22.
