The Deportation Data Project analyzed ICE arrest data obtained through FOIL requests, finding sharp increases in arrests across New York's Capital Region counties over the last three years. Albany County arrests rose from 7 in 2023 to 189 in 2025, while Saratoga County arrests increased from 93 to 209 over the same period. Mario Bruzzone of the New York Immigration Coalition said the data shows noncitizens of nearly every Latin American nationality are disproportionately arrested relative to their share of the state's immigrant population, citing Ecuadorians, Mexicans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans as examples.
