Vinely Alexander Castillo-Norales, a 21-year-old from Honduras, was detained by ICE agents outside his immigration court hearing at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, one day after a federal judge barred ICE from making civil arrests at that and two other Manhattan courthouses except in extreme circumstances. He was released hours later. Rep. Dan Goldman called the arrest a 'blatant violation' of the court order, while DHS maintained that ICE did not violate any order and said Castillo-Norales was a member of the Bloods gang. A spokesperson for the New York Legal Assistance Group, which represents Castillo-Norales, said his quick release supported the claim that the arrest violated the judge's order.
