Dayanne Figueroa, a U.S. citizen and paralegal who recently had kidney surgery, was pulled over by federal agents after an unmarked government vehicle collided with her car while she drove through a chaotic ICE enforcement scene in Chicago's West Town neighborhood. Agents pointed weapons at her, forced open her door, and pulled her out by her legs without identifying themselves, presenting a warrant, or telling her she was under arrest. She was transported to multiple undisclosed locations and denied contact with family or an attorney for hours before being released without charges later that day; her family said she was bleeding and in shock when they picked her up. DHS claimed Figueroa struck the agents' vehicle and violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers, but video reviewed by the Tribune does not show the officers appearing injured, and a witness who called 911 said she had done nothing wrong.
