Gina Christ, who lives in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, was on her way to work when she encountered an ICE and CBP operation and stopped, hoping to observe or slow things down. Agents broke her driver's side window, reached in, pulled her from the car, ordered her to the ground, zip-tied her and deployed gas, flashbangs and pepper spray. She said the agents' behavior afterward was inconsistent, at times asking if she had water or was comfortable while she remained unsure what was happening. She was detained but never charged, one of three U.S. citizens in Minnesota and California — along with George Retes and Aliya Rahman — who described being held with force by immigration agents without ever facing charges.
