Rogelio Jimenez was stopped by multiple masked ICE agents on Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, who forced him out of his car. He repeatedly shouted that he was a U.S. citizen, and an agent responded by demanding he "prove it." Agents handcuffed Jimenez, hurting his arms and wrists, and drove him around for about 20 minutes before releasing him and returning his car a short distance from where he was stopped. He said an agent later told him they had been looking for someone with the same name, and he believes he was targeted in part because of his Mexican heritage and the Mexican flag decals on his vehicle. His case is part of a wave of incidents involving U.S. citizens detained during an ICE and Border Patrol surge in Minnesota.
