In December 2025, two workers became trapped on a roof in Chanhassen, Minnesota for about four hours in very cold temperatures because ICE agents had approached the house they were working on to detain them. One worker eventually came down and had to be taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia. Media outlets reported that an ICE agent got into the ambulance with him and that ICE detained him after he was discharged. The other worker stayed on the roof until ICE eventually left. The account comes from a Minneapolis journalist interviewed by Amnesty International and from MPR News and Sahan Journal reporting.
