Federal immigration agents shoot at drivers in 15 cases

Jan 23, 2026 · San Bernardino, California; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Illinois; Washington, D.C.

Federal immigration agents shot at people in their vehicles at least 15 times since July 2025 during Trump administration enforcement operations. In one case, Francisco Longoria's truck was shot at by agents in San Bernardino. Video evidence contradicted the government's claims of self-defense. Charges against Longoria were dropped after prosecutors stated no lawful basis for the stop existed and no evidence of injured officers was found. The shootings occurred in various jurisdictions, including Democratic-led sanctuary jurisdictions.
