ICE arrested over 1,400 people in Columbus in 2025, mostly without criminal records
Apr 6, 2026 · Columbus, OH
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more than 1,400 people in the Columbus area in 2025, a five-fold increase from 2024. Less than 7% of those arrested during Operation Buckeye in December 2025 had criminal convictions. ICE claimed those without U.S. criminal records committed immigration violations, while the Deportation Data Project analysis contradicted ICE's assertion of targeting the 'worst of the worst' criminals.
