Fear of ICE deepens postpartum isolation for immigrant mothers

Immigrant mothers in the U.S., particularly in Minneapolis where ICE enforcement operations have been active, are avoiding leaving their homes due to fear of immigration enforcement. This isolation extends into the postpartum period, preventing new mothers from accessing medical care and receiving essential support from family and friends. The fear is also keeping partners away from their newborns and contributing to serious mental and physical health consequences.
