Judge suspends 7-day notice requirement for lawmakers visiting ICE facilities

A federal judge temporarily suspended a Trump administration policy requiring members of Congress to provide seven days' notice before visiting immigration detention facilities. U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb ruled that Democratic lawmakers are likely to succeed in proving the notice requirement is illegal and exceeds government authority. The judge found the Republican administration failed to cite concrete safety issues justifying the restriction on congressional visits.
