ICE arrests leave abandoned cars across Maryland

Jun 9, 2026 · Baltimore, MD

ICE arrests conducted during traffic stops and at public locations have left numerous abandoned vehicles across Maryland, creating hardship for families who cannot retrieve them. Community activists and local officials report that ICE provides little notification to police departments before arrests, leaving "ghost cars" with broken windows on streets. The Trump administration's mass deportation campaign has resulted in compounding consequences for families, including lost vehicles, stolen tools, and towing fees.
