Man dies after 93 days in ICE detention, wife deported

Francisco Gaspar Cristóbal Andrés, 48, died on December 3, 2025, after 93 days in ICE detention. He had worked in the U.S. for 20 years and was married with five children. His wife Lucía Pedro Juan was deported while he remained detained; ICE officials separated them despite her pleas to see him before his death. According to reports, detainees in the facility were subjected to verbal abuse by guards, including being called derogatory names and told they were being fed dog food.
