Cuban detainee denied medication for diabetes and pancreatitis at Miami federal prison

Noslén Sendra, 41, a Cuban detainee, was detained during an appointment at the Miramar ICE office in November and spent five months at the Alligator Alcatraz detention center before being transferred to Krome in early April, and subsequently to the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami. Sendra is diabetic and suffered pancreatitis while in detention due to extremely high triglyceride levels, requiring hospitalization. His wife Anisley Cortés reports he is not receiving the medical treatment he needs at the FDC, with officials telling her they cannot provide additional medications because they say ICE is responsible.
